An active shooter has been reported on Florida State University’s campus, with students told to shelter in place.

An alert was sent out to all students and staff at the university in Tallahassee, Florida, at 12.02 pm local time. 

Four people have been reported as injured and are receiving treatment in Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Hospital, according to NBC.

A reporter on the scene has said multiple people have been loaded into ambulances, and one man was ‘shackled by law enforcement before being taken from the scene.’

‘An active shooter has been reported in the area of the Student Union. Police are on scene or on the way. Continue to seek shelter and await further instructions.

‘Lock and stay away from all doors and windows and be prepared to take additional protective measures,’ it read.
