Ebhohon Majekodunmi Oseriemen, also known by his pen name SANKARA, is an esteemed education and youth advocate, social researcher, and Pan-African activist. With a steadfast commitment to youth empowerment, environmental justice, decolonization, and anti-imperialism, he has become a leading voice in the fight for systemic change.

While at the University of Benin, he was rusticated alongside four other students for leading a mass protest against a significant hike in school and hostel accommodation fees. This protest led to the formation of the UNIBEN5, a nationwide movement that ultimately compelled the university authorities to reinstate the students in less than a week. In 2019, the African Youth Parliament recognized him as “one of the noble young Africans to watch out for.”

Ebhohon has participated in numerous influential international conferences, including the 2015 8th Pan-African Congress in Accra, Ghana, and the 2019 6th African Continental Conference of Solidarity with Cuba. From 2012 to 2018, he was mentored by the legendary Pa Jonathan Ihonde, a distinguished TV producer and award-winning dramatist, and continued his association with him until Pa Ihonde’s passing in 2024. During this time, he further developed his storytelling and stagecraft skills.

Currently, Ebhohon serves as the National Youth Coordinator of the Amilcar Cabral Ideological School Movement (ACIS-M), a Nigerian-based Pan-African organization dedicated to the total dismantling of imperialism. He is also the Technical & Communication Project Officer at the Environmental Defenders Network (EDEN), an international NGO led by 2022 Goldman Prize Winner Prince Chima Williams, where he contributes to environmental advocacy and policy development.

In his role as the publisher of TOWN CRIER (www.towncrier.com.ng), an online platform for citizen reporting and investigative journalism, Ebhohon amplifies grassroots voices, critiques systemic oppression, and fosters global solidarity. He is also a correspondent for the Caribbean Rhythm Radio Network (CRR Network), a U.S.-based media station.

A native of Esan South East Local Government, Edo State, Nigeria, Ebhohon has been honored by the African Youth Parliament with a Letter of Recognition and Commendation for his relentless advocacy in advancing students’ rights and Pan-African ideals. His debut play, The Great Delusion, is a powerful socio-political drama that addresses systemic racial injustice and celebrates the brilliance of the Black community.
