A girl was taken to a hospital Tuesday after being shot on a school bus in Florida, according to police.

The girl, a middle school student in St. Petersburg, was “the only one in possession of the gun,” the police department said in a news release.

It is unknown the extent of the girl’s injuries, but she was taken to a hospital to be treated.

Twenty other students were on the bus at the time of the shooting.

No other information has been released.
