During Halloween celebrations in Orlando, two separate shootings injured seven people. The first incident occurred on Orange Avenue near Wall Street around 1:30 a.m. while hundreds were gathered. Four people were hurt, and a second shooting later near Lake Eola injured three others.
The injuries are life-threatening, and the victims include young teenagers. Orlando police are investigating and searching for the suspects involved.
The most recent mass shooting in Florida before the Orlando Halloween shooting happened in August 2023 in Jacksonville. In that incident, a gunman opened fire at a Dollar General store, killing three people in a racially motivated attack.
Florida has experienced other tragic mass shootings in recent years, including the 2018 Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, which claimed 17 lives.
