Trump’s VP Pick J.D. Vance Declines to Label Putin as an “Enemy”

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, now Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick, declined to label Russian President Vladimir Putin as an “enemy,” instead calling him an “adversary.”

Vance’s view reflects his stance on foreign policy, where he has opposed significant U.S. support for Ukraine, arguing for a more isolationist approach.

This reluctance to view Putin as an outright enemy contrasts with positions typically held by other U.S. lawmakers, highlighting Vance’s broader skepticism toward extensive foreign interventions.
