Born of Love

Born not of sin, but soft in nature's womb,
A heart that swells, like lilies in the spring,
Why must you chain with words and laws of doom,
What blooms as freely as the birds that sing?

The heavens painted hues that shine so bright,
Yet you deny these colors in your sight,
For love that does not fit your rigid frame,
You cast it out with no regard or shame.

But let me tell you, love will break each stone,
You cannot crush the light from love alone.
For in this world of thorns, love stands unbent,
No force of hate can break its firmament.
