The Turkish judiciary has made a noteworthy decision concerning Faruk Fatih Ozer, the founder and CEO of the Turkish cryptocurrency trading platform, Thodex.
As per the court ruling, Ozer has been sentenced to a staggering 11,196 years, 10 months, and 15 days in prison on charges related to financial embezzlement involving traders who used his platform.
The investigation into this matter was initiated by the Turkish Public Prosecution Office on April 22, 2021, after receiving reports from Thodex clients who were unable to access their accounts. It was also discovered that Ozer had absconded from the country.
Further investigations revealed that Ozer had departed on April 20, 2021, carrying a massive two billion dollars from 391,000 accounts belonging to the platform’s users.
