Just like Mandela, as a students’ leader at the University of Benin, you deprived yourself of youthful pleasures in the course of sacrificing your all for the betterment of the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences (your primary constituency), yet not neglecting the yearnings and aspirations of students from other faculties. Your commitment to education and social change is truly commendable.
As the Chairman of the Edo state Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), you stepped into a dire situation, where the Council was mired in crisis and its existence threatened. However, you fearlessly fought your way in and breathed life back into the organization. Your visionary spirit, combined with your relentless pursuit of goals, sets you apart from many others of your generation.
During your time as a student at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Benin, you exhibited exemplary leadership qualities. Through your mobilization skills and remarkable oratory prowess, you led your faculty to numerous political victories in the students’ union. Under your guidance, student activists were not victimized or treated with disdain, whether at the departmental, faculty, or university level. Your impact was so significant that you became widely known as “SOSA” – an acronym representing the Faculty of Social Sciences.
It comes as no surprise that a delegation of youth from all 18 local governments in Edo state have put their trust in you to solve the crisis within the youth council and to lead the youth of Edo state. Your unwavering dedication to the betterment of others is truly inspiring.
