Renowned Mass Communication Scholar, Professor Lai Oso, has passed away in a road accident. The incident occurred on Saturday while he was traveling from Abraka, Delta State.
The news has come as a significant loss to his family, loved ones, intellectual colleagues, students and the Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University, where the professor was lecturing until his death.
Many have described Professor Oso as a great mentor, scholar, confidant, and helper of many.
One mourner said that there can never be another Professor Lai Oso, and the pain of his demise is indescribable.
Professor Oso was also remembered by Golden, a student the Prof. served as an external supervisor to. Golden stated that the late scholar provided him with confidence during his work’s defense on Friday, and had went to the park to look for Professor Oso the day before the tragic news of his involvement in an accident that took his life.
The loss of Professor Lai Oso has undoubtedly shaken the academic community and those who knew him, leaving behind an irreplaceable void.
